Decorating

I haven't been as ambitious as planned this holiday weekend. I had hoped to be almost finished with my decorating by this time, but alas, I'm only about 1/3 of the way there!

Part of the problem is that I didn't get started as soon as I hoped. Most of the things I hoped to accomplish on Friday, didn't get done until yesterday. I did finally make that recipe of sausage balls yesterday morning(good thing because that is all I have eaten all day today)! I had little Joshua's 1st birthday party yesterday afternoon (photos to come as soon as Jennifer sends me some because I forgot my camera), and then of course that led right into the Tech game. After the Tech victory, I got out my trees for the kitchen and the living room and started fluffing. I decided last night that there is no part of the decorating that is worse than fluffing the darn trees! My arms look like I've been in a fight with a cat.

Today I started dragging out all of the containers of Christmas crap, er... I mean Christmas decorations and joy. I have the same "tradition" every year. I load up my DVD changer with my favorite Christmas movies or movies that take place at Christmas time (that I actually own) and I play them while decorating... Love Actually, Elf, and Little Women (that same order every year...I'm a little obsessive, I will admit it!).
Below you can see the containers which hold the ornaments for my living room tree. You can see, Lola was making sure she was far out of the way!
Again, here is a photo showing just how helpful she was in the decorating process!

Below are some photos of what I have accomplished...more to follow as I get off my rear and get more done!

Here is the breakfast table in the kitchen.
Below are two photos of my kitchen tree. It is a new tree that I purchased for 75% off last year after Christmas because my old one had a broken stand and kept falling over in the middle of the night! This one has a very sturdy metal stand!
This tree is filled with ornaments that I have had since I was a little, kitchen themed ornaments and ornaments that I have picked up on travels.
Here is the Nativity that I purchased last year.
This year I bought the "Bethlehem" backdrop to go with it at Canton.
Stockings hung by the chimney with care...

This garland is the biggest pain in the behind to hang!

Here are a couple of photos of the living room tree. Every year since I have lived in this house, I think, "Boy I sure do need a 9 foot tree instead of a 7 1/2 foot tree in here." Then again, that is just another foot and a half of tree to fluff, so maybe not! Oh well, I'll live with this one until the lights crap out and I have a good reason to purchase a new one (or I catch a great deal after Christmas, which ever comes first!).
This tree is decorated only with blown glass ornaments that I have collected over the years (and am still in the process of collecting... You can never have too many!).
That's it for now. I have to stop and do some reading for my early morning classes tomorrow (it is the last week of classes...YEAH!!!!!!!!). Hopefully I will get some time over the next few days to decorate my bedroom tree and set up the ceramic village in there, decorate the office tree, and finish putting out some of the final touches in the rest of the house. Then I will have to tackle the outdoors... it may never end!

It looks so good! We have the tree up and fluffed, but no ornaments yet. Maybe tonight. I agree, fluffing is the worst (although Matt did it all this year).

We were in the car earlier today and out of the blue Bennett asked "what is Lola doing?" I said "probably resting." He said "oh. resting at Kara's house?" My response was "yes." Then we launched into a discussion of what Kara was doing. You two have made quite an impression!
