Happy Halloween

We are busy painting so short iPhone post today. Happy Halloween! Lola is mad about the whole costume situation so she won't look at me.

Pathetic Tripod

I got home from lunch today and couldn't find Lola. Usually locating her isn't an issue...she is either right there to greet you as you walk through the door, or she is laying on her bed that is in full view of the door wagging her little nubby tail. But today, neither of those situations were playing out. I hollered and hollered. I went into my room (on occasion, she has followed me in there and not followed me back out, thus resulting in imprisonment in my room), but she wasn't there. I was starting to think she had "R-U-N-N- O-F-T!" (name that movie). Then I go into the other "wing" of the house (that makes it sound real grand, or course, it isn't) and find her sitting on the guest bed in a frozen position...statute like...holding this pose... Look up "Pathetic Tripod" in the dictionary and they are now using this photo. Somehow, while I was gone to lunch, this little dumpling managed to hurt her paw. I have no idea how long she had bee

Halloween Candy

I just took a quiz over on Martha Stewart's Blog which tells you "which Halloween Candy you are". Traci over at Her Hillbilly Highness did the quiz and posted her results of "Candy Corn" and so I just took the quiz and.... drum roll please......... I'm Snickers. According to the results, I'm a Snickers because "Your tastes tend to be more complex and multilayered; you like sweets but are most satisfied when they're paired with warm and savory flavors. Your standards are high, and you're most satisfied when they're met, but you don't take offense when they're not." Uuuuhh, okay? I'm not sure what that says about me, but I do like a good Snickers on occasion! If you are bored and looking to kill some time, you can take the quiz too. Then report back on what you are!

No Progress

There was no progress on the bedroom re-do this weekend. I may have chronic fatigue syndrome. Or maybe just chronic laziness syndrome. Or maybe depression from my football team's poor and pathetic showing this weekend. Any way you look at it, it requires lots of napping and tv watching on the weekends. Really what I decided was that all I had time for this weekend, if anything, was getting the primer up. Then I thought What a pain in the butt! I mean I would have to move the existing furniture into the middle of the room and make the mess, only to have to clean it up enough to live in it for a week until I got around to actually painting. So I decided it would be best to make the mess come and go all on the same weekend. Hopefully this weekend between Friday's "Scare at the Square" and Saturday's football and Trick-or-Treaters and a Sunday trip to Canton, I will be able to prime and paint. So ambitious. I should start an iv drip of energy drinks now!

SATC Saturday: Cameos

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah...Hallelujia...Haaaaaallelujah! Jason Lewis was back on the set filming scenes of Smith Jerrod! There are many cameo performances in the SATC 2... One widely rumored appearance came true... Miley Cyrus You guys know my feelings about Miley (that she grates on my last nerve), so I was very pleased to hear that the rumors that she plays a "young Carrie" were nothing but rubbish. She has a cameo where she shows up on the red carpet of one of Smith's movie premiers dressed in the same outfit as Samantha (as shown above). Penelope Cruz also has an appearance... and also... None other than Mr. Tim Gunn! Make it Work People! In non SATC news, I'm planning to put a layer of primer over my chocolate brown walls in my bedroom and am wondering what time I can expect y'all over to help today? Speaking of service, check out my "new" section over to the right under "List of the Week". My list has been pretty stale lately a

Last Day in Savannah

Sunday was our last day in Savannah.  We went to brunch at 700 Drayton located inside the Mansion on Forsyth Park... We each had the exact same thing... Peach Pecan French Toast with Bourbon Vanilla Custard and Extra Crispy Applewood Bacon oh, and of course a side of grits to share Here is the outside of the Mansion on Forsyth Park The inside isn't what you would expect at all.  It is all very modern, but the mixing of the styles is really pretty.  I would love to stay there sometime! After breakfast, we walked across to Forsyth Park and the fountain Then we walked over to the Mercer-Williams House to buy tour tickets so that we could be sure and get in on the first tour of the day.  After we had tickets, we walked back to the hotel to finish packing and check out.  Here are some random, but I think neat, photos from our walk... After checking out of the hotel, we drove back over to the Mercer House for our tour.  If you read, then you may know this as "the h

Because It's My Birthday...

Because It's My Birthday, I'm doing the annoying double post. There is nothing you can do about it because it is my birthday. Well, I guess you can not read this post, but really, that would be mean because it is my birthday after all! Thanks for all the Birthday well wishes. No, I haven't done a darn thing exciting today except take a nap. It was to the point that either toothpicks were needed to hold my eyes open, or a nap. I chose the nap. No, I'm not doing anything exciting tonight either. I have class from 7-9:45. It sucks being a grown up! Anyway, the reason for the double post is that I remember way back to when I was like 5 or 6. I got a stuffed Snoopy and Belle (Snoopy's gal pal) for my birthday. Anyway, I loved to dress them up, especially Belle. But people, let me tell you, my Snoopy and Belle NEVER had fashion duds like these... Thank God I didn't know what I (and Snoopy and Belle) was missing.  My little 6 year old heart may not have b

Isle of Hope and Wormsloe

First of all, today is my birthday. 33 seems old, so yuck! I would like for each and every one of you to come help me paint my bedroom this weekend as your birthday gift to me. No? Some blog friends you are! Get ready for the biggest photo display yet. On Saturday afternoon we drove down the most idyllic street you have ever seen. It was on the Isle of Hope. You drive down this barely paved, single lane, winding road. On one side is the river and on the other side are these magnificent homes. Each home you pass is more breathtaking than the previous one. I would gladly move into any of them! Each house has a dock, so they just walk down their exquisitely manicured front lawns, out their white picket fence gates and cross the street to reach their docks. I tried to leave some of my photos out, but they are all so lovely it was hard! Here is a great sampling... Hello? Are you still there? I figure that there is either a fair chance that I have bored you to death, or you are now packing
