I Did A Bad, Bad Thing...

I Did A Bad, Bad Thing...

I went to the Coach Outlet today armed with a coupon...20% off your purchase, but if you spent a certain amount, your discount increased to 30% off. I didn't really NEED anything, but I haven't bought a new spring purse this year. Yes, I did buy a new one last year. And no, there wasn't a thing wrong with last year's model. But, it never hurts to look, right? And one can never have too many bags, right? Thanks for agreeing...that was exactly what I was thinking too!

So once I got inside, I experienced some temporary insanity and a shopping spree ensued! I got some really great deals though.

First, I got a new spring/summer bag...
Yes, last year's spring/summer bag was white, but it was pebble leather, not patent leather, so they are vastly different. Oh and the thing that sold me... a $385 bag for $83!!!!

Of course I had to get my accessory an accessory, so I got it that cute little tie, and for a fabulous deal too!
Here is where the insanity struck. I didn't stop there. No, I bought another bag.

This is one that I decided last weekend that I needed...
We crammed all of our stuff into Abby's little bag that is similar to this. Then when we were at the House of Blues, Abby just looped it through her belt loop and didn't have to use a hand to keep up with it.

Once I figured out I could get this thing for about $30, I was sold!

But wait, there's more! This is going on the "I so DIDN'T need these" list, but again: Too Cute! Great Deal! Sold!

Here is a close up of the cute detail on the glasses...

Anyone who ever tells you, you don't need a new purse obviously doesn't understand.

Swiss Oatmeal {Copy Cat Recipe}

I'm obsessed with Swiss Oatmeal.  I particularly love  Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.  If you are not familiar with Swiss Oatmeal, it is a cold oatmeal cereal with fruit and nuts.

I've had a similar recipe for years, but it was only similar.  It wasn't close enough for my liking.  So I finally set out into the land of Pinterest to find a recipe that was a good Copy Cat.  I found a few, combined them and came up with what I think is a very close Copy Cat Recipe of Corner Bakery's Swiss Oatmeal.

Here's what I do (note, this recipe is really just pictures, because I don't really have measurements for these things.  The photos aren't great, but it's easier if I show you what I do)...

Here's the Phase 1ingredients... Milk Honey Yogurt (I use a vanilla greek yogurt) Oats (old fashioned, not quick...you probably could do steel cut too) I've simplified this to where you only need a bowl and a spoon for Phase 1 because I use my yogurt cup as a meas…

It's all about the dress...

I mean I guess it's really all about getting married, but come on, you always anticipate the dress right?  Well holy moly folks!  Today a big secret was released to the press.  No, we still don't know which dress or tiara Kate will be wearing, but we heard for the first time that Princess Diana had a back-up dress!  Here are some of the pictures and sketches...

Real dress on Left~ Back-up on the Right Here are the sketches of the back-up dress

And you know what?  I like the back-up dress better than the one she wore!  I know, I know.  I'm going to get blasted for saying that, but I'll just confess it right now... My name is Kara and I've never thought Princess Diana's dress was all that and a bag of chips.  Nope.  Not my favorite Royal Wedding Dress by any stretch of the imagination.  What is my favorite?  Probably the one that Sarah Ferguson wore when she married Andrew...
It had beautiful beading and stitching throughout.  Also on the train it had an "A&quo…

Pumpkins, Gourds & Flowers, oh my!

Yesterday, I went to the Dallas Arboretum.  Lisa, Jennifer, and I went as my birthday outing.  We got a late start due to some court delays, so we stopped for lunch first.  I needed some make-up too, so we went to Neimans.  We ogled some purses, had lunch, I got some make-up and then we headed out to the arboretum (in the rain).

It was raining pretty good on the way over, but luckily, we only needed umbrellas for a few minutes.  Thankfully the sun never came out, because it was so humid, I'm pretty sure we would have melted.

First, we made our way toward the Pumpkin Village...

I love how they made garland out of the mini-pumpkins...

These rose bushes were just stunning!  The roses on each bush varied in color from a coral, to a blush, to a purple hue...
It was Fall at the arboretum, and pumpkins, gourds, and mums are a large part of the visit.  However, they also have a Chihuly art exhibition going on.  I took so many pictures, I HAVE to make that it's whole separate post.  …
